finalized idea

I picked the white background with black footer and rotating navigation as my final.Because of the mirrors, the patterns a kaleidoscope creates is always symmetrical so for the layout the home page which the user will see it first, I made it symmetrical. the big exhibition’s logo is located in the centre of the page and two small button which lead the user to go to other pages on both side of the page and these three are aligned in the centre. And yellow and blue circle are information and explanation of the exhibition, but if the information is too long then these two circle will be buttons which take the user to see information page. Once the user clicks either “student” or “category” button, all the contents will be moved into the side of the website with simple animation. And “student” “home” and “category” buttons will start rotating and changing the colours once they are hovered. The rotation and the colour represent the primary principles of Kaleidoscope. In the category page, all of the artwork will shape
the circle and rotates according to the mouse movement. And once the mouse hover one of the image, then the title and the name of the
student will appear and when the user clicks the image then, the site will show him/her the full version of the artwork in light box. The category is shown on the right side of the page. and each of them is button so if the user want to see only “still” image the user simply need to click the “still” button. In student page, the names of students are
rotating. And once the name is clicked then the student name will be appear on the centre of the
site with artworks. The slide let the user show more artworks of the student and once

idea2

For the rotating idea, I only put white background, because white is the only colour which let any other colour stands out. and for the footer to put sponsor, I picked back for high colour contrast. And the white background and some negative space creates sophistication and cleanness in the website.
Each student will have their own colour for background line while the student’s artwork is shown. And the reason I want to use
different colour for each student is to identify their individuality.

idea of websites

The first idea which is using
a kaleidoscope background,
I made the photograph as
low opacity because if the
photograph is 100% in opacity,
the contents will be too hard
to read. And it does not look
sophisticated either way.

study of web design

Else Mobile
ELSE offers a totally new definition of what a mobile device can be. ELSE is a totally new concept driven purely by user experience rather than by technology. The preloading was out of my box becasue it used video so the user would not get bord of waiting. however the preloader dose not say the percentage so I was wondering when the loading finishes.

study of websites

Resn
The portfolio website of Resn Interactive Agency is like a magic box – it contains an inconceivable amount of various design techniques. Rich motion graphics, big typography, controllable 3D elements – this portfolio is very hard to forget.

study of websites

Inside Piet
With this portfolio Belgian Flash developer Piet Dewinjgaert gives you an access to his own brain! it’s difficult to describe what is going on there.
And I like the way of showing each of his artwork which appears one by one. and it minimise the space by clearly shows the each of the work even though the animation is so complicated, but the graphic interface is so clear and navigates the user very well.

Chuck U

The portfolio of Chuck U delivers graphic design of inimitable beauty. This is what can be called a web design delicacy.I like the style of the gallery page, by using small speech balloon shape to show each of the artworks. these shapes are small but it may be a good idea to show many artworks on one page.

Also
This portfolio is so unique creativity puts it beyond time limits. So it would be a mistake not to share such a design treasure with Smashing Magazine audience. Absolutely stunning portfolio. Bravo Also!
